How best might museums harness the interactive capabilities of online environments to provide active teaching and learning experiences for diverse learners and communities? How can museums engage learners in ways that encourage them to visit the museum in person and/or further explore online resources? What should be the role of the museum in these online education encounters? This article will discuss reasons why museums should offer online learning, and how it can complement onsite programming.
