The theme of the 1985-1986 Teacher Education Workshop, sponsored by the North Central Association Teacher Education Project, was "Designing Contemporary Teacher Education Curricula." Group reports are presented on: (1) "Forces Affecting Parameters of Teacher Education"; (2) "A Window of Analysis for Examining One Major Curriculum Recommendation"; and (3) "The Professional Studies Component in Teacher Education: More Than Courses and Generating Academic Credit." Individual research reports were presented on: (1) "A Futuristic Look at Dance in the School Curriculum" (Alta Burns); (2) "Competency Testing: How Can Teacher Education Help?" (Trenton Cooper); (3) "Follow-Up Questionnaire for Use in Curricula Change Decisions for Preservice Teacher Preparation Programs" (Ray Gibson); (4)"Preservice Teacher Education: What Is the Current Curriculum?" (Shirley Haworth and Donald Jones); (6) "A Modest Proposal for Iowa Teacher Evaluation of Beginning Classroom Teachers" (Vincent Mahoney); (7) "Enhancing Instructional Competence in Small Colleges" (William Roweton); (8) "Teacher Stress: The Enemy Within" (Darold Simms); and (9) "A Learning Resource Center for Teacher Education" (Michael Tanner).
