Written for students in the fields of speech correction and audiology, the text deals with the following: structures involved in respiration; the skeleton and the processes of inhalation and exhalation; phonation and pitch, the larynx, and esophageal speech; muscles involved in articulation; muscles involved in resonance; and the anatomy of the ear including the outer, middle, and inner ear and the auditory pathway. Information relating to the total speech and hearing process is given. Illustrations are used as well as sample exercises for learning and for self testing.
