What Parents Really Want out of Parent-Teacher Conferences
Brandt, Shannon
Kappa Delta Pi Record, v39 n4 p160-163 Sum 2003
In this article, the author shares how she turned once-dreaded parent-teacher conferences into valuable assessments, evaluations, and action plans using the fourth-generation evaluation method. Fourth-generation evaluation has three main components. First, it includes a multitude of assessment tools. Second, it involves stakeholders in the evaluation process. Third, the evaluation is followed with a plan of action. By adopting this method, the author has created a more comprehensive approach to informing and involving parents in their child's school life.
