This instructional package contains both an instructor's manual and a student's manual for a course in machine dictation and transcription. The instructor's manual contains an overview with tips on teaching the course, letters for dictation, and a key to the letters. The student's manual contains an overview of the course and of the skills needed to use machine dictation equipment. It also includes preview sheets for the letters contained in the instructor's manual, and instruction on dictation. Information in the appendixes includes tips for proofreading, proofreaders' marks, most threatening spelling words, commonly used business words, state abbreviations, transcriber's daily log, phonetic alphabet, line count sheet, examples of full block and simplified letter styles, and information on addressing envelopes.
