Busy Teachers: A Case of Comparing Online Teacher-Created Activities with the Ready-Made Activity Resource Books
Khoshhal, Yasin
International Journal of Pedagogies and Learning, v11 n3 p283-300 2016
With the ever-growing needs for more resources, the lack of concentration on preparing an exclusive activity for a particular classroom can be observed in a large number of educational contexts. The present study investigates the efficiency of ready-made activities for busy teachers. To this end, an activity from the ready-made resource book, "Copy and Go 1," has been chosen as the reference and has been compared with the three different online activities, extracted from "www.busyteachers.org," that have been created by other teachers and been uploaded on the Internet. The findings indicated that the online resource provides more joy and entertainment in the class and have a wider range of variety, including culturally oriented activities, which is indispensably desired in language learning contexts, in comparison with the resource book which is exclusively designed to cover the particular lesson that has been offered in the course book.
