COED Transactions, Vol. IX, No. 6, June 1977. An Introductory Course in Microprocessors and Microcomputers.
Marcovitz, Alan B., Ed.
This paper describes an introductory course in microprocessors and microcomputers implemented at Grossmont College. The current state-of-the-art in the microprocessor field is discussed, with special emphasis on the 8-bit MOS single-chip processors which are the most commonly used devices. Objectives and guidelines for the course are presented, with a description of the specific processor used. The course and laboratory are then outlined; a sample programming problem and a simple project are presented in detail. Other instructional materials developed for the course are briefly discussed.
