A Report to the President and Congress on the Status of Health Personnel Graduates of Accredited Private Health Career Schools in the United States.
American Medical Technologists, Park Ridge, IL.
This report supplements two earlier government studies on health personnel in the United States, focusing on graduates of allied health programs in private, for-profit schools. The report contains the following tables: (1) Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) Accredited Schools and Specialized Programs; (2) Allied Health Programs Offered in ABHES Accredited Schools; (3) National Association of Trade and Technical Schools (NATTS) Accredited Schools; (4) Allied Health Programs Offered in NATTS Accredited Schools; and (5) Allied Health Programs--Graduates and Placements for 1988 and 1989. The American Medical Technologists' 1989 assocation report on membership, education, and employment is included. Three appendices contain letters stating the case for the need for and accomplishments of private health career schools that prepare students for direct employment in the health care field. (KC)
