This Illinois District 189, East St. Louis Public Schools, 1973-1974 evaluation report on programs, services, activities and projects funded in whole or in part under Title I of the 1965 Elementary Secondary Education Act is organized into five parts. Part One, 'Title I Projects' comprises reports on seven projects. Continuing Education for Pregnant Teenagers; Conquest (Remedial Reading Program); Countdown (Remedial Contemporary Mathematics Project); Two Projects in Physical Education --3V (Remedial Physical Education) and H.P.R. (Summer Program), Re-entry (Night High School for 'Drop Outs' between 16 and 21 inc.); and Speak (Remedial Language Program) Part Two, 'Supportive Services' includes four sub-sections discussing respectively - Community Relations; Counseling and Guidance; Health; and instructional media. The discussion in Part Three, 'Urban and Rural Grants' is organized into two sub-sections dealing with early childhood education and kindergarten enrichment respectively. Part Four, 'Title I Special Research Projects' comprises reports on four projects: a 'Birth Order Study'; investigations of the 'effect of physical training upon academic achievement'; and of the 'relationship between I.Q. scores and academic achievement test scores; and a 'Self Concept Study'. Part Five, 'Summary' includes concluding remarks and recommendations. (JM)
