Contemporary Technologies...3...An Updated Plan for NIACC's Future.
Hecht, Alfred R.; And Others
An update is provided on North Iowa Area Community College's (NIACC's) progress toward achieving its goals with respect to the use of contemporary technologies, along with plans for further progress. Part I examines the characteristics of contemporary technology and provides information on NIACC's Contemporary Technology Strategic Planning Initiative (a three- to five-year plan for expanding the use of technological advances on campus). The next three sections focus on technology-related changes implemented in the manufacturing technology, business technology, and humanities programs. Each section provides information on equipment purchases; effects of the introduction of the new equipment on students, faculty, and the program; and plans concerning equipment selection, curricular applications, students to be served, location and layout. Finally, part V offers summary comments about the need for a continuous investment in updating knowledge, skills, and equipment, and NIACC's efforts to meet the challenge. (EJV)
