Trends in Direct Mail Marketing--A Survey of Private Four-Year Colleges.

Surveyed 727 principal admission officers at private, 4-year undergraduate liberal arts colleges in U.S. concerning direct mail marketing. Found that 87 percent of respondents reported currently using direct mail marketing, suggesting that it represents a fundamental building block for vast majority of inquiry and applicant pools. Concludes that, as such, direct mail marketing deserves more scrutiny and analysis. (NB)
