Instructor's Guide for Fluid Mechanics: A Modular Approach.
Cox, John S.
This guide is designed to assist engineering teachers in developing an understanding of fluid mechanics in their students. The course is designed around a set of nine self-paced learning modules, each of which contains a discussion of the subject matter; incremental objectives; problem index, set and answers; resource materials; and a quiz with suggested responses. Emphasis is placed upon a rational, analytical approach which can have broad applicability to all fields of engineering. Modules include: (1) Fluid Properties; (2) Fluid Statics; (3) Basic Concepts of Fluid Dynamics and the Equation of Continuity; (4) The Energy Equation; (5) The Momentum Equation; (6) Similitude; (7) Viscous Fluid Flow; (8) Viscous Flow Applications; and (9) Compressible Fluid Flow.
