Two studies examined counselor and client identification and recall of important events in counseling. Both counselors and clients identified events involving expressions of insight and understanding, provisions of personal material, descriptions and explorations of feelings, and expressions of new ways of being. Clients also identified events containing dialogue indicative of deep, elaborative, and conclusion-oriented information processing. (Author/NB)
