The push for 21st century skills (TFCS) is not a new concept. Setting a diversified goal of education with aims of honing in on student needs and reflecting a better, more relevant education is something that has evolved throughout history. The world today reflects global influence and increased competitiveness in every way. Teaching TFCS is a movement that may clash with traditional teaching methods guided by isolated standards, but seeks to exercise students' necessary skill sets. While the aim of TFCS has implications for career development, it is also about generating opportunity for individual success and potential. This article, therefore, addresses what TFCS are, why specifically schools should be structured around fostering them, and ideas for classroom implementation.
