Learning about the Soviets: Selected Teaching Resources.
Educators for Social Responsibility, Cambridge, MA.
Over 120 resources for teaching secondary and postsecondary level students about the Soviet Union, most of which have been produced since 1980, are listed in this guide. A resource list focusing on "Ten Things Soviets Say You Should Read to Understand Them" precedes annotated citations of articles; books; curricula; organizations involved in Soviet Studies and Soviet-American relations; audiovisual materials; and additional resources such as information exchanges, newsletters, directories, reports, and pen pal exchanges. Although resources cover a variety of topics, the majority deal with U.S.-Soviet relations and issues related to the nuclear arms race. In most cases, author, date, annotation, price, and publisher information are provided for each title. (LH)
