A variety of resources, learning activities, and instructional materials make up this population education resource kit. Four major components comprise the kit. The first section is a leader's guide for the organization of an educational workshop about population education. Designed for teachers and community people, the workshop guide presents materials and activities to use in the classroom for all grade levels. Sample agendas, learning activities, and evaluation forms are provided. The second component of the kit is a special issue of INTERCOM, published by the Center for War/Feace Studies. This 1973 journal contains a sample teaching unit, descriptions of organizations and human resources, a bibliography of materials, and general articles about population and population education. A third section of the kit is a population education curriculum guide which contains classroom activities and units of study to help students understand population trends and changes in the United States and the role of the individual in population trends. Twelve classroom activities with accompanying discussion and a statement of learning objectives make up the guide. The last section of the kit contains different kinds of materials relating to population which were developed or gathered by the Zero Population Growth organization. Activity sheets, newspaper and magazine articles, bibliographies of resources and audiovisual aids, and pamphlets and brochures make up this final part of the kit. (JR)
