Black intellectuals and writers were invited to write essays on assimilation, race, and identity, using a famous quotation from W. E. B. Lattany); (11) "Junior and John Doe" (J. McPherson); (12) "The Du Boisian Dubiety and the American Dilemma: Two Levels of Lure and Loathing" (C. E. Lincoln); (13) "Primal Orb Destiny" (W.
