These assignments and text for a secondary-postsecondary level correspondence course in electronic communications comprise one of a number of military-developed curriculum packages selected for adaptation to vocational instruction and curriculum development in a civilian setting. Purpose of the individualized, self-paced course is to provide students with background information, including fundamentals of communications, communications medium and equipment, and maintenance and safety. Six assignments containing multiple choice questions cover these topics: (1) Communications Basics; (2) Satellite Communications, Wave Propagation and Antennas; (3) Wave Propagation and Antennas (continued), Communication Transmitters and Receivers, Facilities Control Operations; (4) Facilities Control Operations (continued); and (5, 6) Maintenance and Safety. The seven chapters of the text are Communications Basics, Satellite Communications, Wave Propagation and Antennas, Communication Transmitters and Receivers, Facilities Control Operations, End Terminal Equipment, and Maintenance and Safety.
