Affection Activities: Procedures for Encouraging Young Children with Handicaps to Interact with Their Peers.
McEvoy, Mary A.; And Others
Education and Treatment of Children, v13 n2 p159-67 May 1990
Affection activities (such as hugging, smiling, and saying positive things) can be added to typical preschool games and songs to encourage interaction between handicapped children and nonhandicapped peers. The intervention can be adapted for use with children with diverse handicapping conditions. Typical activities, modified directions for affection activities, and teacher prompts are outlined. (PB)
