Instructional Blogging in the General Music Room
Kerstetter, Kathleen
General Music Today, v24 n1 p15-18 Oct 2010
Blogs, short for Weblogs, began to show up in the late 1990s, based on online discussion boards centered on threaded topics. Currently, a blog typically refers to a Web site in which an individual posts entries and then allows for commentary from the readers. If scholars look to some educational theory, both novice and experienced bloggers can use existing frameworks to help create meaningful experiences in their general music classrooms. In addition, blogging gives students an audience and provides them an authentic reason to write about music and musical experiences. (Contains 1 figure.)
