Real-time labor-market data derived from detailed analysis of online job postings offers a new tool for more easily aligning programs to local labor-market demand. The authors describe a partnership between the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) and Burning Glass Technologies, a Boston-based labor-market analytics firm, designed to explore opportunities that can result from robust incorporation of real-time labor-market data into continuing and professional education units' program planning and decision-making practices.
