Response to Intervention Implementation in One Southeastern School District
Gagnon, Stephanie Maynard
ProQuest LLC, Ph.D. Dissertation, Mercer University
In this descriptive case study, the researcher examined central office, school level leadership and teachers' perceptions of implementation of Response to Intervention. The study took place in one rural Georgia school district and focuses on the elementary school level. The source of data for this study was interviews, observation and artifacts of the RTI process. The study found that there is a lack of knowledge of who's in charge of the RTI implementation process. Participants identified both benefits and challenges to the implementation of RTI. Participants identified insufficient time to complete RTI processes and a need for increased training and learning for RTI implementation.
