The Staff Development in Universities program is a general title covering a variety of activities from fifty British universities and university colleges; each group attempted to develop the readiness of university staff to grasp the opportunities and cope with the problems facing higher education in the years ahead. The program ran from October 1972 to October 1974. The report has three parts: the first discusses the background and operation of the program in detail; the second part is a collection of papers on related topics (including lifelong education, educational reform, educational technology, women's studies, resource allocation, and curriculum development); and part three contains program materials and case studies.
