Presented is a summary of an environmental science workshop for pre-service elementary teacher education held at Nairobi, Kenya. Workshop objectives include: (1) to adapt existing teacher training curricula to the requirements of an environmentally oriented curriculum of primary schools in Africa; (2) to highlight innovations in environmental science education teacher training; (3) to provide guidelines for future programs in environmental science education; and (4) to plan for collaborative action among participating countries. Included are addresses by speakers, country reports, summaries of workshops, working group reports, and working group summaries. (SL)
