This study investigated the utility of four WAIS-IV Digit Span (DS) indices (traditional Reliable Digit Span [RDS], RDS-Working Memory [RDS-WM], RDS-Revised [RDS-R], and DS Age-Corrected Scaled Score [ACSS]) as embedded performance validity tests (PVTs) among a sample of 342 consecutive adults referred for neuropsychological evaluation of ADHD.…

Estimating WAIS IQ from the Shipley Institute of Living Scale Using Continuously Adjusted Age Norms.
Peer reviewed
Zachary, Robert A.; And Others – Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1985
Linear regression techniques and continuous norming were used to develop a procedure to estimate age-adjusted Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale scores from the Shipley Institute of Living Scale. This estimation procedure is recommended for use in clinical and research settings in which a brief but accurate estimate is desired. (Author/BL)

Estimated age-adjusted Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-Revised intelligence quotient (IQ) scores using linear regression techniques and continuous norming of two samples of psychiatric inpatients (total N=150) in Veteran's Administration hospital. Results support use of estimation procedure in clinical and research settings desiring brief but…

Zachary, Robert A.; Gorsuch, Richard L. – Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1985
Illustrates a method for generating continuously adjusted age norms using the normative data for the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-Revised (WAIS-R). Specific procedures for calculating age-adjusted Verbal, Performance, and Full Scale IQ scores also are demonstrated, with a worked example. Comparisons show continuous norming scores are more…
