Rehabilitation Prevocational Support Services. Program Outline.

This outline decribes the Rehabilitation Prevocational Support Service program at Northwest Community College (Alabama), designed to help prepare selected students for occupational training programs or job placement and to enhance their academic level. Students are assigned to individualized learning modules based on pretesting by a variety of testing instruments. Students in the individualized program of study take developmental English, developmental mathematics, functional skill training, job survival skills, work station vocational training, and assessment counseling and job placement support services. Students may repeat these courses as many as eight times. The report outlines the prevocational program. The vocational program offers basic courses in carpentry, welding, plumbing, electricity, small motors, masonry, cosmetology, electronics, and basic business education. The outline of the prevocational program includes course descriptions; course schedule; software available; resource books; resource kits; other resource materials; filmstrips; and course syllabus (includes course description, objectives, methods of instruction, methods of evaluation, and textbook required, class schedule/topics, bibliography, videos) for each course.
