Education, v133 n3 p356-369 Spr 2013
This mixed-methods research study investigated the implementation of Drop Everything and Write (DEW) in early childhood/elementary classrooms. DEW is an activity in which students simply "drop everything and write." Teachers were interviewed at the completion of the school year about how they implemented the program, their perceived advantages and disadvantages of DEW, and to what extent, if any, did the execution of DEW affect students' attitudes toward writing. Additionally, students' pre-and post-writing attitude survey data were analyzed.
