Getting Serious About High School Graduation. Challenge to Lead Series
Daugherty, Rebecca; Lord, Joan
Southern Regional Education Board (SREB)
This Challenge to Lead report, Getting Serious About High School Graduation, not only describes the challenges SREB states face in meeting the goal that all young adults have a high school diploma, but it also provides policies and strategies that each state can--and should--use to get serious about high school graduation. It is possible to adjust state policies to help high schools increase their graduation rates and to change the schools themselves so that more students have the incentive and the support they need to stay in school and graduate. In fact, SREB's High Schools That Work leads the way in helping high schools in SREB states improve graduation rates while they raise student achievement.
