Providing Ongoing Support and Making Appropriate Placements: An Alternative to Transition Planning for Mildly Handicapped Students.
Edgar, Eugene
Preventing School Failure, v35 n2 p36-39 Win 1991
The article proposes a transition program for mildly handicapped students which stresses appropriate placement and ongoing support systems. Following intensive remedial academic instruction in junior high school, students would be tracked into either the traditional high school program (with ongoing support) or an alternative program designed to develop functional work and community skills.
