Kaufman, Alan S.; Dicuio, Robert F. – Journal of School Psychology, 1975
Factor analyses of the McCarthy Scales were performed on separate groups of black and white children to assess the comparability of the underlying structures and to evaluate the construct validity of the MSCA for each racial group. There was evidence of the instrument's construct validity for each racial group. (Author)

Funk, Sandra G.; And Others – Journal of School Psychology, 1986

Naglieri, Jack A.; And Others – Journal of School Psychology, 1981
Cross-validated the factor analysis of the McCarthy Scales and determined construct validity for children who score one standard deviation below the normative mean on general cognitive ability. Findings discourage interpretation of the Quantitative Scale for school-age children with General Cognitive Indexes below 84. (Author)

Mishra, Shitala P. – Journal of School Psychology, 1981
Found that the McCarthy Scales of Children's Abilities factor structure was highly similar for Anglo and Mexican American children. Factors emerging for Anglos and Mexican Americans were consistent with scales constituting the McCarthy Scales. Wiebe, Michael J.; Watkins, Ernest O. – Journal of School Psychology, 1980
The McCarthy Scales of Children's Abilities (MSCA) was subjected to factor analysis to determine the test's validity. Results suggest that clinical interpretation should be made cautiously until further exploration of the construct validity and sex differences in the MSCA can be conducted. (Author)
