This article outlines the results of a study of household recycling conducted in Somerset County, New Jersey, and describes some of the forces that seem to encourage recycling behavior. The results suggest that people must be both motivated and capable of overcoming barriers to recycling. (CW)

Presented is a study designed to ascertain the level of ecological knowledge and attitudes of citizens of the Dominican Republic regarding national parks and natural resources. Analyzed were attitudes toward animals held by 145 children, ages 12 to 14. The most prevalent attitudes were humanistic, moralistic, naturalistic, and ecologistic. No attitude differences were found between boys and girls. Close to 90 percent of the children reported that they had spent time in class discussing wildlife. (Author/CW)
