Integration of Students with Severe and Profound Intellectual Disabilities into the Comprehensive School System: Teachers' Perceptions of the Education Reform in Finland.
Jahnukainen, Markku; Korhonen, Anu
International Journal of Disability, Development and Education, v50 n2 p169-80 Jun 2003
This study examined 125 Finnish teachers' attitudes toward the integration of students with severe and profound intellectual disabilities one year after their mandated transition from the social service system into the comprehensive school system. About 80% of respondents thought the best placement for these students was in full- or part-time special classes located in mainstream schools. (Contains references.) (Author/DB)
