Vandewalle, Don – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1997
The development and validation of an instrument to assess goal orientation for the work domain are reported. Results of exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and nomological network analysis of results from 556 undergraduates all support the conclusion that the instrument operationalizes the theorized…

Hill, Peter C.; And Others – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1988
A variant of a technique for enhancing the validity of self-reports--the generalized bogus pipeline--was investigated in three experiments, with a total of 273 undergraduates. Smith, Richard M.; Kramer, Gene A. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1992
The common item equating method (weighted and unweighted) and the one-step missing data calibration method used with Rasch measurement models were compared using data from six equivalent forms of a perceptual ability test administered as part of the Dental Admission Test. Results suggest little difference among the equating methods. (SLD)

Goldberg, Edith L.; Alliger, George M. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1992
Metanalysis of 27 studies dealing with psychology students and the Graduate Record Examinations' (GRE) validity in predicting graduate school success was conducted. McLain, David L. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1993
A new 22-item measure of an individual's tolerance for ambiguity, the Multiple Stimulus Types Ambiguity Tolerance (MSTAT-I), is described. Zebb, Barbara J.; Meyers, Lawrence S. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1993
The reliability and validity of the revised California Psychological Inventory's (CPI) Vector 1 scale, a measure of introversion and extraversion, were studied with 345 college students (109 males and 236 females). Results support the scale as a valid measure of the introversion-extraversion construct of H. G. Gough. (SLD)

Morse, David T. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1998
The relative difficulty of seven test wiseness skills was studied with 243 undergraduates, who completed a measure of such skills. The use of specific determiners as a cue was significantly more challenging than eliminating irrelevant alternatives, selecting the alternative with the most information, or using grammar cues. (SLD)

Gasser, Michael B.; Tan, Rowena N. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1999
Developed a scale of cultural tolerance, examined the latent structure of the scale, and determined its relationship to other relevant constructs. Results with samples of 262, 165, and 86 college students suggest a two-dimensional structure of items assessing affect and belief and items assessing intention to behave. Contains 41 references. Perlow, Richard; Moore, D. De Wayne; Kyle, Rebecca; Killen, Thomas – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1999
Examined a set of working memory scales containing two versions of test items that are reading and mathematics based. Data from 201 undergraduates support the hypothesis that an oblique two-factor model in which the factors are based on item content would fit the data well. (SLD)

Vispoel, Walter P. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 2000
Compared results from computerized vocabulary tests under conditions in which item review was permitted or not permitted. Results from 177 college students reveal that performance gains after review were greater for examinees of high ability, and that review was desired more by examinees with higher test anxiety.
