"Women's Mental Health Questionnaire" (W-MHQ) assesses females' adult mental health concerns, and examines their associations with specified father-daughter childhood relationships. Presented are W-MHQ item and scale development, and psychometric findings drawn from factor analyses, reliability assessments, and validation processes. For counselors who work with troubled students, the "Women's Mental Health Questionnaire" (W-MHQ) provides an assessment process that extends traditional measures for "Depression," and introduces scales for "Counseling Needs, Deferent Behavior, and Mother Estrangement." Counseling implications for counselors, therapists and researchers emerged in the associations shown between W-MHQ factored scales and women's childhood father-daughter relational experiences; experiences measured by the MP-FDI "Author-Father-Daughter Relationship Inventory" (Author, 2008). Both instruments (W-MHQ and MP-FDI) written in the first-person voice of a women, open a door for counselors and therapists to dialogue with women about their mental health concerns and childhood parental experiences. Findings in this research suggest an association may exist between women's adult mental health concerns, and their childhood father-daughter, and/or mother-daughter experiences.
