Describes an environmental education program which centers its study on a one-week river trip on the Mississippi, the purpose of which is to discover, through laboratory procedures and people concerned with the river, what its present condition is. (BR)

Described is a unique environmental studies program open for students from all schools. Scientific concepts and techniques are stressed as these relate to environmental studies. Besides participating in special activities organized during the year, each student is required to participate in several field studies. (PS)
