Emerging Perspectives on Editorial Ethics: An Interview with Chris Higgins
Jackson, Liz
Educational Philosophy and Theory, v49 n2 p169-179 2017
Chris Higgins took on the roles of Editor of "Educational Theory," and Editor-in-Chief of the "Philosophy of Education Yearbook" published by the Philosophy of Education Society, in 2013, after having been an Associate Editor and Book Review Editor for "Educational Theory" for six years. Higgins worked closely with Nicholas C. Burbules to ensure a smooth transition after Burbules' 22 successful years of leadership of the "Educational Theory" journal. In this interview, Liz Jackson queried Higgins about the role of a journal editor today and the ethical responsibilities of an editor, and asked him to share practical advice for junior scholars facing imperatives to get their work published in this dynamic era. The interview took place via video chat held in September 2014, Jackson in Hong Kong and Higgins in Champaign, Illinois.
