Presents a short biography of the winner of the American Psychological Association's Award for Distinguished Professional Contributions to Independent Practice. The 2012 winner is Sandra L. Shullman for her outstanding contributions and leadership as an independent practitioner in the fields of counseling and consulting psychology. Through her national scholarship on sexual harassment in the workplace, her development of the practice of organizational counseling psychology, her management of a leading behavioral health care practice, and her pioneering leadership development initiatives for national and international clients, Shullman has greatly enhanced the public's recognition of psychology. In addition, her involvement and leadership as a representative of independent practitioners in professional associations at the state and national levels have benefited the profession in immeasurable ways.
