The University of California, Irvine, 1986-1987 Student Affirmative Action (SAA) Plan is presented. An introductory section covers the organizational structure of SAA efforts, progress toward SAA goals, persistence and graduation rates for new SAA high school freshmen through spring 1985, and an overview of SAA education-oriented and community-oriented activities. Information is provided for 11 academic units, academic retention units, outreach units, and student life units. For each unit's program goal, a chart lists program objectives, the person responsible for implementation, program activities, numbers in the target group by ethnicity, expected outcomes, and ways outcomes are measured. A 1986-1987 schedule of activities is provided for each unit. Also included are worksheets for the assessment of unit SAA goals and program objectives for 1985-1986. For each goal and objective stated in the unit's 1985-1986 planning statement, program managers were asked to rate the level of effectiveness and comment on the rating assigned and enhancement intended.
