A natural science resource booklet for teachers and students contains detailed materials for teaching and learning about Alaskan wildlife. Each of nine chapters provides background subject information, suggested learning activities, tear-out pages of review questions for students to answer, and supplementary notes for teachers which include chapter behavioral objectives, major concepts to emphasize, and suggestions for presentation of the material. The introductory chapter discusses how much of Alaska's wildlife migrated to Alaska from Asia by way of a land bridge during the Ice Age and explains that the location of Alaskan wildlife is determined by climatic conditions. The next seven chapters focus on hoofed animals, bears, fur bearing animals, rodents, strange water mammals, fish, and birds. The concluding chapter presents information on animal tracks and includes scale drawings of moose, elk, muskox, brown bear, beaver, lynx, red fox, wolverine, otter, mink, marten, procupine, and snowshoe rabbit tracks.
