This quarterly journal reviews trade books, textbooks, and reference works in the pure and applied sciences for students in elementary and secondary schools and in the first two years of college. Included are selected advanced and professional books useful for reference to students and teachers. Each book is reviewed and annotated by a qualified specialist, and an appraisal is made and identified by symbolic representation. The level of difficulty is also identified. The books reviewed include such topics as psychology, sociology, ecology, economics, education, physical sciences, mathematics, biology, engineering, agriculture, geography, and natural sciences. The listings are arranged in order of Dewey Decimal Classification. An index of titles is provided. The editorial presents notes on the new NOVA Series. (EB)
