This quarterly journal reviews trade books, textbooks, and reference works in the pure and applied sciences for students in elementary and secondary schools and in the first two years of college. Included are selected advanced and professional books useful for reference by students and faculty members. A listing of detailed subject fields is provided including psychology, sociology, ecology, land economics, education, physical sciences, mathematics, biology, engineering, agriculture, geography, and natural sciences. Each book is annotated by professional reviewers in different fields and rated on a four-point scale to illustrate its suitability and usage level. The listings are arranged in order of Dewey Decimal Classification. An index of titles is also provided. (CC)
