Statistics & Input-Output Measures for Colorado Public Libraries, 1999.
Colorado State Dept. of Education, Denver. State Library and Adult Education Office.
"Statistics and Input-Output Measures for Colorado Public Libraries, 1999" is a compilation of data collected from the Colorado Public Library Annual Report sent to each public library jurisdiction in February of 2000 and returned in March. The 1999 response rate was excellent: 100% of Colorado public libraries returned the Annual Report and there was a substantial reduction in number of individual items left blank. Following a section of definitions and uses of ratios and measures are tables showing state totals and averages and state ratios. The remaining tables provide information/statistics on the following: public library addresses; telephone, fax, and URL; public library director names and email addresses; borrowers, outlets and bookmobiles; staff in Full-Time Equivalents (FTE); computers and networking; local, state, federal, other and total library income; staff expenditures (salaries, benefits, and totals); expenditures on library materials and resources (bound materials, videos, audios, subscriptions, electronic materials, and electronic access); miscellaneous and total expenditures, including capital outlay; selected library materials (books, audio, video, software, and print and electronic subscriptions); circulation, including Colorado library card; public service hours; visits, reference transactions, and interlibrary loan; annual program offerings and attendance; input measures (FTE ratios and items per 1,000 served ratios); funding measures (per capita funding ratios and staff and materials as percent of operating expenditures); output measures (registration as percent of population, services per capita, evening and weekend hours percentages and turnover rate); and Colorado public library salaries and wages for Director and Assistant Director; Branch Head and Department Head; Cataloger and Children's Librarian; Computer/Automation Specialist; Reference/Adult Services and Starting Librarian; and Library Assistant/Technician, Library Clerk and Library Page/Shelver.
