Interdisciplinary integration of health professions education (e.g. pharmacy, medicine, dentistry, nursing, and podiatry) is examined in light of the pros (societal usefulness and cost effectiveness) and cons (justifiable professional boundaries and other concerns). Characteristics of an integrated cluster of individualized, cross-disciplinary curricula are outlined. (JT)
