This report offers statistical data for fiscal year 1987 on student enrollments, faculty, semester credit hours, physical facilities appropriations, and state loan and grant programs for Texas institutions of higher education. The following enrollment data are presented: 5-year (1982-86) summaries of headcount for public senior colleges and universities, public community junior colleges, independent senior colleges and universities, and independent junior colleges; headcount by ethnic origin and sex by type of institution; enrollment of resident and nonresident students; and county and state of origin of Texas college students. Faculty data include information on faculty rank, ethnic origin, sex, tenure by type of college; faculty salaries; and faculty-student ratios. Semester credit hour enrollments are presented by degree level and program. Data on investments in the physical plant and on net assignable facilities space by function are followed by a summary of legislative appropriations. The final section details the amount of funds awarded under several grant and loan programs. (AJL)
