This report describes recent developments in international educational cooperation and their effects on the Netherlands Organization for International Cooperation in Higher Education (NUFFIC), and presents a picture of NUFFIC as an organization. It has two parts. Each part is organized into parallel sections covering: cooperation in Asia, Africa, and Latin America; cooperation with industrialized countries; study assessment; information and documentation; and foreign students. Part I addresses NUFFIC the organization, with descriptions of its structure, activities, and approach. Also described are the three organizations closely associated with NUFFIC: CESO (Centre for the Study of Education in Developing Countries); IMWOO (Institute for Social Science Research in Developing Countries); and RAWOO (Advisory Council for Scientific Research in Development Problems). Part II presents the main developments occurring in NUFFIC in 1989, with supporting statistics. NUFFIC activities that are highlighted include the evaluation for equivalency and professional recognition, the types of information that NUFFIC provides as well as collects for international activities, and the various grant programs that NUFFIC administers.
