Presented are the proceedings of the Third Annual Learning Resources Conference which deal with current directions in educational services for the severely handicapped. The papers are divided into three topical areas, the authors' names and addresses are supplied, and support material relating to some of the papers and a resource guide are provided. The first section contains two addresses ("Legal Considerations in the Delivery of Services to the Severely Handicapped" by W. Dussault, and "LRCs as Advocates for Programs and Services for the Severely Handicapped" by J. Crosson) and documents concurrent sessions dealing with least restrictive educational alternatives for the severely/profoundly handicapped, architectural barriers, community models, family direction services, and parental involvement. Section 2 contains the address "The Programming of Materials for the Severely Handicapped" (by A. Hofmeister) and documents concurrent sessions on individualized educational programs, assessment, medical conditions, classroom management, adaptive equipment, ancillary services, and early intervention. The third section deals with "Training and Technical Assistance as Functions of Learning Resource Systems Serving the Severely Handicapped" (by W. Lance) and documents concurrent sessions on personnel preparation, workshops, models for technical assistance, evaluation of the training and technical assistance, role of training institutes, training packets, and integration of severely multiply handicapped students.
