This instructor's handbook contains information on the Coordinated Vocational Academic Education program (CVAE) designed for special learning needs students (in-school youth possessing academic, socio-economic, or other handicaps). Academic instruction is provided for the areas of math, science, English, and social studies. Home economics skills are included in the vocational section: clothing services, food services, home furnishings services, and housekeeping management. Objectives and activities are provided for six grading periods. Materials from various sources are compiled into instructional units. They include worksheets, study sheets, skits, word puzzles, a crossword puzzle, notes for student notebooks, written tests, self-evaluation forms, notes on filmstrips, key points for teacher demonstrations and/or classroom discussions, and plans for organization of food labs and housekeeping duties, as well as other helpful instructional aids.
