This student learning guide contains nine modules for completing a course in masonry. It is designed especially for use in secondary schools in Palm Beach County, Florida. Each module covers one task, and consists of a purpose, performance objective, enabling objectives, learning activities keyed to resources, information sheets, student self-check with answer key, performance test, instructional resources, and knowledge test. The nine modules cover the following topics: practicing safety; mixing practice mortar; cutting masonry materials with hand tools and cutoff saws; manipulating mortar for blocks; laying blocks to a line; constructing a block wall between existing leads; laying an eight-inch block lead; laying an eight-inch block corner; and constructing an eight-inch block wall.
