Reviews four models of moral imagination applied to school leadership (as discovery, moral authority, faculty of mind, and super science) and discusses their inherent difficulties. Replacing "moral imagination" with "critical imagination," coupled with "democratic value deliberation," yields a richer leadership that fosters teacher empowerment and a fuller serving of the public good.
