Voluntary religious conversion is a topic of great interest and fascination. However, this fascination is increased when the religion is Islam and the convert is female. Through the use of three in-depth interviews, this research hopes to answer the following questions: how much does a dissatisfaction with typical British individualism contribute to a British woman's decision to convert to Islam? And does collectivism play a part in attracting women to a faith considered by many to be the fastest-growing in the UK?
